Something a little different for us: to cap off 2023, we attended the finale of the new production of West Side Story at the Théatre du Châtelet.
Bernstein's score is always a delight, and this iteration faithfully updates Jerome Robbins' original choreography. There are several iconic songs that are just as potent and anthemic as any pop numbers: "America", "I Feel Pretty", "Somewhere", "When You're A Jet" or "Maria"... The musical is just as fun, daring and topical as it was when it first opened nearly seventy years ago.
The company's next engagement is a ten-day run in München, Germany but they will be on tour across Europe. Don't miss this exquisite rendition of a true classic.
