Beastö Blancö @ Élysée-Montmartre, Paris - November 11th, 2024

Beastö Blancö’s crushing set at the Élysée-Montmartre set the perfect stage for an electric night, opening for The Dead Daisies. Touring behind their new album Kinetica, the band's mix of hard rocking tunes and theatrical flair captivated the crowd from the very first notes of the Spaghetti Western vibes of the intro tape Il Nostro Spirito until the heavy groove of set closer Breakdown. Beasto Blanco’s performance was part freak show, part Heavy Metal opera, a whirlwind of decibel, drama... and a whole lot of fun.

Calico Cooper, the mesmerizing frontwoman, proved she’s much more than a singer. Her presence commanded the stage as she seamlessly wove together interpretive dance, storytelling, and an intense vocal performance. Every move she made felt purposeful, a theatrical extension of the music. Her father’s legacy might loom large, but Calico’s own fierce style shows she’s crafted her own path. Chuck Garric, with a demonic aura reminiscent of Gene Simmons, matched her energy, creating a magnetic “two-headed beast” alongside Calico. The two switched and blended lead vocals, with each moment more dynamic than the last.

Visually, the show was stunning. Dramatic lighting, eerie props, and tightly choreographed stage setups brought a dark, immersive atmosphere to their performance. But while the theatrics drew everyone’s eye, they wouldn't mean much without great songs. And Beastö Blancö's knack for fun rock ’n’ roll hooks with a gritty industrial edge shows that Beastö Blancö' learned that long ago. Of course, with Chuck's resume and Calico's DNA, how could it be otherwise?
