After a shot of of tradition with the old-school thrash titans Kreator, the next generation of sonic offenders proceeded to put the Parisian audience out of its misery. Lamb Of God delivered a devastating set that took aural brutality to another level.
Even though they haven't had the commercial success of their American counterparts, Kreator just might just be the ultimate Thrash band: they have Slayer's intensity, Megadeth's progressive song structures, Metallica's sense of melody and Exodus' gnarly-ass riffs. Their triumphant return to Paris, after three years of postponements, in a sold-out Olympia packed to the brim with metal maniacs, was an event not to be missed.
Durand Jones is the frontman and one of the main songwriters of Durand Jones & the Indications, the best classic Soul outfit to have come out in the past decade. We saw them play at the Trabendo a little over three years ago and they were absolutely fantastic.
