Seal @ Salle Pleyel, Paris - September 19th, 2023

This was the last date of the tour celebrating thirty years of Seal's first and second albums (although they came out thirty-two and twenty-nine years ago respectively...) and the star treated the audience packed in the venerable art-deco theater to a veritable barrage of hits and classics from that era.

Zia Victoria @ Salle Pleyel, Paris - September 19th, 2023

The evening's opening act came highly recommended as she was introduced on stage by none other than the headliner himself: Seal came out in denim overalls and a trucker's hat to tell us how moved he was by this young singer named Zia Victoria.

Charley Crockett @ Café de la Danse, Paris - September 11th, 2023

Charley Crockett's show at the Café de la Danse in Paris has been sold out for weeks, a well-deserved pay-off for the past decade of hard road work and excellent releases and a measure of how far he's come since he used to busk the city's streets years ago.

Ags Connolly @ Café de la Danse, Paris - September 11th, 2023

Songwriter Ags Connolly's played his first French concert before Charley Crockett's triumphant headlining set. His deferent yet personal take on country music was a perfect for an audience which was a mix of American expats and local Country music aficionados. Traditional Country & Western, honky-tonk, ballads... Connolly plays it all with heart and humor. But the twist here is that Ags Connolly hails from Oxfordshire, England.

AC/DC announce new drummer

It seems like there's always some drama coming out of the AC/DC camp... in 2016, Brian Johnson was out... Then he was back in. Cliff Williams retired... But he's apparently confirmed for the band's return to the stage in California next month. And of course, the drummer's chair has always been the most precarious position: after his well-documented legal troubles following the recording of the Rock Or Bust album, long-time drummer Phil Rudd was ousted and was replaced on the tour by a returning Chris Slade. And even though Rudd recorded 2020's Power Up, he seems to have been replaced for the band's appearance at the Power Trip festival, according to AC/DC's social media... Check it out at the link below.
