The Cure and Morrissey to play Mopechella in August

UPDATE: This was very obviously an April's Fool hoax. I think most everyone understood that... except for the ones that sent me hate mail, insults and death threats. Isn't the internet a wonderful place?

In what will be remembered as a momentous day for children of the eighties, two of the biggest stars of the era have announced a joint concert in the Coachella desert for on July 18th, 2024. The Cure and Morrissey will be bringing their bouncy melodies and mischievous lyrics to the sun-drenched desert plains, bringing joy, laughter and light to the heart of music fans in what will undoubtedly be a fun-filled romp through mega-platinum fun-loving hits such as "Killing an Arab", "The End of the World", "Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now" and "Girlfriend in a Coma". This will mark the first time that the former Smiths singer and the band led by Robert Smith perform on the same stage. After the concerts, both artists and their bands will unite to play a few songs under the name "The Robert Smiths".

The opening act for this once in a lifetime event will be Nurse With Wound, who will delight the audience with their delicately whimsical pop songs like "I Cannot Feel You as the Dogs Are Laughing and I Am Blind". As an added bonus, a hologram of the late Joy Division frontman Ian Curtis will be serving as the Master of Ceremonies in between sets, entertaining the crowd with his rip-roaring standup comedy routine. Tickets for what is already being dubbed Mopechella Fest will be made available on April 10th at the link below.
