Kris Barras Band @ Backstage By The Mill, Paris - March 13th, 2024

 

In the nearly five years since we last saw the Kris Barras Band (Kris did play two solo acoustic sets opening for Beth Hart at the Olympia in February 2020, but we missed those), their sound has toughened up substantially, evolving from a muscular, blues-infused alternative rock to full-on, crushing Hard Rock, as evidenced by the few tracks we got to hear from from their upcoming album "The Halo Effect" due out on April 12th via Earache records.

For nearly 90 minutes Kris Barras and his musicians (Josiah J. Manning on guitar and keyboards, Frazer Kerslake on bass and Billy Hammett on Drums) delighted the small but fervent audience with their heavy riffs, propulsive grooves, blazing guitar solos and soaring melodies. On the band's first headlining gig in Paris, they established themselves as a potent new force in Heavy music.
