Ash kicked off the festivities with a set that showcased their excellent new record, "Race The Night" and revisited classics from their impressive thirty-plus-year career, including a generous serving of tracks from their iconic debut, "1977." The energy in the room was electric, especially during standout performances of Goldfinger, Kung-Fu, and the non-album single A Life Less Ordinary—a song penned for the Danny Boyle film of the same name.
The chemistry between Tim Wheeler, Mark Hamilton, and Rick McMurray was evident as they seamlessly transported the sounds of the '90s Brit Rock era into the present moment. The band would return later at the end of The Subways' set to perform a song together, bringing together two iconic bands from two different eras. The crowd reveled in the nostalgia, but Ash ensured it wasn't a mere trip down memory lane; they skillfully bridged the gap between then and now.
