The evening's opening act came highly recommended as she was introduced on stage by none other than the headliner himself: Seal came out in denim overalls and a trucker's hat to tell us how moved he was by this young singer named Zia Victoria.
The young woman is starting to make a name for herself on the strength of her debut album 05 Baby and she played a 40-minute solo set that charmed the audience with her natural demeanor, emotive voice and surprisingly mature songwriting. Songs like Collarbone, Sandcastle and Wasted Youth took on new, acoustic guises and were the perfect warm-up for Seal. She ended her set with a haunting piano-led cover of the evening's main attraction biggest hit Crazy.
