Comprised of guitar hero Jeff Beck and Vanilla Fudge/Cactus rhythm section Tim Bogert and Carmine Appice, Beck, Bogert & Appice was a short-lived Hard Rock supergroup that released only one studio album in 1973, between the collapse of the second Jeff Beck Group, which was primarily a Soul/Rock outfit, and the guitarist's reinvention as an instrumental Jazz Fusion musician with the blockbuster album Blow By Blow.
Although they did release a Japan-only double live album, there are otherwise very few documents of the band's live shows, which were famously heavy on improvisations... and decibels. As Jeff Beck's 79th birthday approaches (the late guitarist was born on June 24th), this album is being re-released as part of a sprawling box set which also features bonus tracks from the same concerts, as well as another show recorded in London the following year that was heavily bootlegged but never officially released. The new set will be released on September 15th?
You can listen to their version of Superstition, recorded live in London in 1974, and pre-save the new album in the embedded Apple Music player below.
