Taipei Houston are a duo comprised of brothers Layne and Myles Ulrich on bass and drums respectively, who just released their debut album Once Bit Never Bored last year. Given the format, it's no wonder that their music is very reminiscent of Royal Blood: a mix of punk-flavored alternative with a little metal thrown in for good measure. This was their first concert in France and what they lack in experience, they make up in enthusiasm and sheer energy. The highlight of their set, for this reviewer, was a raucous and impossibly noisy version of the Beatles' Eleonor Rigby which was virtually unrecognizable and showcased the brothers' ferocious sonic attack.
