American folk legend played a greatest hits set last night with his top-notch band (including superstar drummer Steve Gadd) to the delight of an aging but fervent crowd. The concert had been postponed twice, and the sold-out Olympia welcomed the legendary singer/songwriter with open arms.
Bathed in an elegant light, Taylor spoke an impeccable French throughout his two sets. Exquisite renditions of Fire And Rain and Don't Let Me Be Lonely Tonight were among the highlights of an evening that, spent in the company of such a luminary of American music, felt like a privilege.
